Established in 1934 by William Joseph Franz, W.J. Franz & Company, LLC has been providing accounting and tax services to individuals and businesses in a variety of industries.
William's son, Douglas W.J. Franz graduated from Cleveland State University and began working for the company in 1967. Douglas eventually took over the company after his father's retirement and used his expertise in business and tax planning to increase profitability in multiple closely held businesses.
Douglas used his extensive knowledge in family wealth transfers, business succession planning & asset protection to evolve the company. Douglas has passed his wealth of knowledge and mentored his long-time colleague, John W. Yelsik.

Certified Public Accountant with over 35 years of experience in financial accounting and tax preparation. John has experience in a wide range of industries, including but not limited to, manufacturing, retail, automotive sales, restaurants, golf country clubs and real estate. John has extensive experience in reviews and compilations as well as tax planning for businesses and individuals. John's experience includes Corportations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, Non-Profits and Trusts.
John enjoys playing hockey, golfing and spending time with friends and family.

William R. Franz joined the firm in 2003 and is the son of the late owner Douglas. William started as a data entry clerk and over the years has developed his skills by hard work and continuing education. William provides on-site computer support, bookkeeping, payroll services and administrative support to our clients. William has followed in his father's footsteps and continued to be hands on by visiting and traveling to clients for in person meetings.
William is an avid Cleveland sports fan. He is an excellent chef and enjoys cooking for family and friends.
